Online ordering system for restaurants
Your own ordering shop on your own domain, your own app, a terminal that prints receipts, and an admin panel where you run everything yourself. No commission per order.
What is an online ordering system?
An online ordering system takes orders for a restaurant online and passes them through to the business. The guest picks dishes, chooses delivery or pickup, pays online or on the spot, and the order appears in the restaurant within seconds, where it is printed as a receipt.
What sets it apart from a delivery marketplace is who owns the channel. On a marketplace the guest orders from the marketplace, which keeps a commission on every order and holds the customer relationship. With your own ordering system the guest orders from the restaurant, under its name and on its domain, and the customer data stays with the business.
What hfoods is made of
Four building blocks that work together. Table reservations are included in every package.
Ordering shop
On your own domain, built for search engines and made for the phone. Menu with sizes, sides and extras, cart, minimum order value and scheduled orders with a time slot.
Your own app
For iOS and Android, published under the restaurant's name, not under ours. With order history, order tracking and a loyalty programme for regulars.
Order terminal
An Android device in the restaurant that accepts orders automatically and prints receipts, over Wi-Fi or mobile data. Several printers are possible, for example one for the kitchen and one for the driver.
Admin panel
Menu, opening hours, delivery areas, prices, promotions and branding in one place. Plus revenue reports in real time, from any device.
How an order travels
The guest orders
They open your shop or your app, choose delivery or pickup and put dishes in the cart. The system checks whether their address falls inside the delivery area and whether the minimum order value is met.
They pay
Cash on handover, by card on the spot, or online via Stripe and PayPal, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Which options you offer is your decision in the admin panel.
The order arrives
It appears on the terminal in the restaurant and is printed as a receipt, with order type, time, address, items and payment method. Accepting or rejecting it takes one tap.
The guest is kept informed
They receive a confirmation by email and can follow the status. Order confirmations run by email, there are no push notifications.
Delivery, pickup and delivery areas
Delivery areas can be set in two ways: by postcode or by the actual driving distance. For each zone or distance you can store your own minimum order value and delivery fee, so that addresses further out are treated differently from the neighbourhood.
Pickup works independently of that, with its own times. Either one can be switched off on its own, for a business that only delivers or only lets guests collect. Scheduled orders with a time slot are accepted by the shop outside opening hours as well.
What an ordering system costs
With hfoods you pay a fixed monthly price, whatever you sell: 99 euros net for the web shop, 149 euros net for the package with your own app. Table reservations, the terminal and the admin panel are included in both. No setup fee, no commission per order.
For comparison: delivery marketplaces usually keep 14 to 30 per cent of every order. On 10,000 euros of monthly revenue through the marketplace, that is 1,400 to 3,000 euros. What genuinely comes on top are your payment provider's fees, and those apply to every online payment, whatever system you use.
Try the commission calculatorWho owns the customer data?
The restaurant is the controller for its guests' data, hfoods processes it on the restaurant's behalf. For that we sign a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR, which commits us to processing within the EU and the EEA.
Precise rather than convenient: infrastructure and payments run through providers with US parent companies and European subsidiaries, whose sub-processing can touch the United States. Our privacy policy names every one of them, and we send you the agreement and the list of sub-processors before any conversation.
Who this is built for

- Restaurants and pizzerias with delivery, pickup or both
- Takeaways and kebab shops with high order volumes at peak times
- Delivery businesses that want to run their own areas and minimum order values
- Businesses with several locations, managed centrally and billed per site
